Fiancée.

For the last 5 days I have been joined in Portland by my beautiful fiancee, Kendra Kreider.  It was so great to have her here in my new city, sharing with her some of the fun places I have found and some of the great experiences I have had.

Saturday was Valentine’s day and we spent most of the day out and about.  We had coffee and spiced cake with my boss and his wife in the morning.  After that we had a photo shoot with one of the girls that I work with.  We are hoping to use a few of them as our official engagement photos.  After our time down-town we went back to Lake Oswego to freshen up and relax for a few before heading out to dinner.  Kendra chose the location for our Valentine’s day dinner and I think she made the right choice… Chipotle… yes, I am marrying the right woman.  We called it a night fairly early on Saturday because we wanted to go to church on Sunday.

Sunday we went to Imago Dei, the service was so good.  Pastor Rick was teaching on 1 Corinthians 7:1-7 it was a really practical study on a passage that I think is usually avoided by pastors, or at least not taught on from the pulpit.  We then ate lunch with Karen & Andrew, a couple that used to live in Southern Oregon.  They both live in Portland now and are engaged to be married.  Karen is a student at PSU and Andrew is on staff at a missional church community called The Table.  Our lunch with them was delicious and encouraging, it was great to meet new people and connect with another couple.

Sunday was also Kendra’s birthday.  We had pizza for dinner at Pizzicato and dessert at Papa Haydn on 23rd.  Papa Haydn is certainly in a league of their own.  This place had some of the best desserts I’ve ever tasted.  Soo good, but at the same time, dangerous if you’re trying to lose weight for something like… oh I don’t know, an upcoming wedding :)

It was so nice to have the woman I love with me in Portland, I guess it was like a taste of things to come.  I can’t help but see how wonderful a provider our God is by seeing how amazing this woman is.  Her love for me is proof of God’s grace and faithfulness.  I am grateful for and humbled by such love.
